Second Summer Magical Meet of Chandernagore Jadukar Chakra was held on the 18th of June at Rabindra Bhavan, Chandernagore from 4:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. Delegates' session was attended by 116 magicians, many of whom came with their families. Every delegate received gifts including magic trick items which were presented by magician & magic maker PRONOB COOMAR and K. NANDY. C.J.C. sincerely thanks both these persons.
Delegates' session started with magician GORA DUTTA presenting his prize winning trick "Balloon Mentalogy", also later revealed the secret for which he received thundering applause from his fellow magicians.
Mr. Dutta was followed by Resident Lecturer SOMEERAN ACHARYA presenting his unique lecture demonstration "Professor and his students at work." While being seated on a chair, SOMEERAN gave instructions to his students (DIPANGSHU, SAUNAVA, DIBYAJYOTI and CHAND BAHADUR), who demonstrated different moves, subtleties involved in Rope Tricks, ultimately performing various routines, making the Demo an unique affair on the large stage. A big salute to Mr. SOMEERAN ACHARYA and greetings to his talented young students.
Someeran was followed by legendary Magic Man Grand D.C. DUTTA, who was escorted upon the stage and graced the occasion with a few thoughtful appropriate words, giving blessings to CJC.
Then Mr. ARUN BONERJEE starred in the last act of the Delegates' session by performing JACK DELVIN'S latest "Die through Wand" trick (Magic Circular No: 1000th issue) made by magician SUJIT KUMAR, who was also invited on the stage and spoke on making of the trick. For this he received warm heart-felt greetings from the audience.
After High Tea magicians returned to the auditorium. By then the hall was packed to the full (approx. 600). all the magic loving people of the town took seats to enjoy the evening program.
Great L.K.ROY was the 'starter', presenting his polished conjuring act. This was followed by the 8 women wizards presenting their graceful acts. These young ladies were SUBHADRITA, PINKY, DEBOMITA, REKHA, DEBADRITA, SUMITA, SANTANA and KEYA. The first lady was truly a little angel, only 3&1/2 years old....SUBHADRITA worked solo on the stage, handled prop neatly, created 'Magic', received strongest ovation from the audience. Her teacher Magician SATYADIP needs to be congratulated for this performance too. Later DEBADRITA by her performance proved that she is the worthy daughter of SOMEERAN ACHARYA. All the girls received special momento from the Secretary SASANKA BANERJEE and a very good quality 'Rigid Rope Trick' (this item was gifted by K.NANDY).
After the girls came professional N.C.SARKAR presenting his fun 'Rope-n-Handcuff' act, even magically changing his dress of a "sanyasi" (sage) to that of a Police Officer. The act was new and enjoyable to one and all.
The evening closed with brilliant fast moving 15 minutes dazzling Illusion show by Illusionist PRODEEP SARCAR and his well tuned team plus timely music and song which made the audience extremely happy as the final curtains were drawn for this year.
The whole event was sponsored jointly by Mr. PRODEEP SARCAR & C.J.C. The 'CIRCULAR' was produced by veteran magician J.R.PARMAR, while donations also came from C.J.C.'s overseas patron Magician & Magic Historian Mr. CHRIS BRINSON of U.K. Chandernagore Jadukar Chakra is thankful to all of them.
